INCLINE VILLAGE, Nev. — It does indeed take a village to produce the Incline Star Follies shows.

You
need a producer — Ron Stichter — to obtain and coordinate the venue,
the lights and sound, the ticket, program and poster printing, and
numerous other production tasks.

You need a director — Don Hertel
— and a production crew, from the big village of San Diego, to work
with each of the acts, stage set-up, and music.

You need an
assistant director — Kathie Goldberg — to work with Don, cast the show,
coordinate the practices and rehearsals, make the show CDs, communicate
with the cast and crew, and countless other production details.

You need choreographers — Keli Maiocco, Karen Osborne, and Nancy Porten — to work with both student and adult cast members.

You
need administrators, staff, students and community members to cast in
the show — people willing to put in many hours to perform at their best.

You need a venue — the Cal Neva — just a short distance from our village.

You
need sponsors — Chase International Realty, China Wok, Dress the
Part(y), Lakeshore Realty, North Lake Tahoe Bonanza, Strotz Photography
and Village Ace Hardware — willing to donate in a tough economy.

More
sponsors — Bowl Incline, Coldwell Banker Select Real Estate, Dr.
Jonathan Smith, EuroTech, Hacienda, Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe, Jen
Schmidt Photography, LifePoint Church, Menath Insurance, Mueller and
Company, Inc., North Tahoe Lions Club, Rainbow Printing, Rotary Club of
Incline Village, Sierra Web Design, St. Francis of Assisi Parish, The
Potlatch, Videographically Inclined and Women's Club of North Tahoe.

You need a place to purchase the tickets — The Potlatch — willing to take time out of their business to sell tickets.

You
need many volunteers before, during and after show nights — especially
of note: Sylvia Bachman, Dee Dee Clark, Jeanne Dunnett, Lenty Hagen,
Ross Heppe, Chris Laramore and Joy Michiel.

You need restaurants
and stores willing to donate food and water in these rough economic
times — Austin's, Bar Bar Bar, Crosby's, Raley's Supermarket, Rookies,
Subway, Susie's Scoops, Swire Coca-Cola, T's, Tomaato's, Village
Market, Village Meats, and Wild Alaskan — to feed a hungry and thirsty
cast and crew.

You need hair and make-up artists — Annie
McLaughlan from Vanities Salon, Suzanne Simonian, Debbie Richardson, and
Kelsi Haines from All About Nails and More, Christiana De La Casa from
La Petite Salon, Joy Strotz, Jane MacKellar, Tanya Soule, and Alyssa
Aninos from Dress the Part(y) — to make the cast look amazing.

And finally, you need an audience — filled with friends, family and education supporters — to perform your heart out for.

Thank you, Incline, for being that kind of village!

— Kathy Long is a board member of Incline Star Follies.
